Greenwood/Sudbury United Methodist Church Connection
Greenwood Memorial United Methodist Church is SUMC’s sister church in Dorchester. Projects and activities are shared between the two churches. Teams of people from the Sudbury church help out each Monday with the After School Program at the Greenwood church. At Thanksgiving time, baskets are put together for needy families in Dorchester. An annual “Martin Luther King/Black History” worship service in February is shared jointly, alternating between churches. Each summer, people from both churches gather for a picnic on the church grounds in Sudbury. Other activities and projects are planned on an annual basis.

Sudbury Savoyards
What began in 1962 as a church event to have fun and raise money for building the new sanctuary has grown to a community wide production of several Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and other plays every year.  All proceeds from the Sudbury Savoyards’ well regarded productions now go to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) for global hunger and poverty.

Performances are presented in the air-conditioned and handicapped accessible Curtis Middle School, 22 Pratts Mill Road, Sudbury, MA.  For more information, directions, or to order tickets please visit our website:, email us at, or call 978-443-8811 and leave a message.

The Sudbury Savoyards, founded in 1961 and sponsored by the Sudbury United Methodist Church, is an all-volunteer organization which donates all of its proceeds to the relief of world hunger. Since 1999, they have successfully donated $100,000. to UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

The church sponsors Boy Scout Troop 60 and Cub Scott Pack 60.
