Rev. Joel B. Guillemette
Joel became our senior pastor in July 2006. Three pastoral appointments in Silk Hope, NC, Bath, ME, and Concord, NH, preceded his coming to Sudbury UMC. As a clergy member of the New England Annual Conference, most of Joel’s service has been in the areas of clergy recruitment, development, and credentialing. In Maine and New Hampshire, he served as a clergy mentor to local pastors in their first years of ministry. In New Hampshire, he was a member of the District Committee on Ordained Ministry. And for ten years beginning in 1994, Joel served on the New England Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, leading the Board as one of its two co-chairpersons from 2000 to 2004. He presently serves as director of the conference’s local pastors licensing school.
Joel is a graduate of Gordon College in Wenham, MA, and the Divinity School at Duke University in Durham, NC. He and his spouse, Wendy, married in 1977 and have been blessed by God with two daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren.
